Free DNS servers

Hello,

I want ip address of some DNS servers available. As I can browse internet
using proxy server but I can't ping\ftp\telnet machines using url like

ping xxx.com will not work but if i will ping using ip it will work.

That sounds bizarre to me. Are you sure? What on earth do they expect you to
use?

Note - you can use pretty much any public DNS server's IP address, but
you're really supposed to use your ISP's. They are supposed to have them.
That said, 4.2.2.2 should work.
