Free/Busy Status attached to Email Address

I just received an email from a coworker, when I opened the message, all of
the recepients in the To and CC lines appeared with status circles next to
them. One of the status' stated that she was busy until 5:00pm. What is
this option and where can I find it? I have been playing with Outlook help
for about a half and hour now and can't seem to find what i am looking for.

Do you have MSN Messenger or Windows Messenger? The circle usually
indicates their IM status (online, in the IM contact list, etc.)
