Frames scrolling

I'm putting our current mess of a website into front page, and trying to get
it into frames for ease up updating for others around here, however I'm
having a small problem.

I have a three frame page (banner, left nav frame, and main frame on right -
for content). I want the top banner to be locked for size, but I want the
two lower frames to be able to scroll as an entire page (i.e. I want it to
look like there are no frames and not have to put a scroll bar on both
frames - since some content pages may expand beyond the users view screen).

Any help or places to look would be appreciated,

Please explain further what you mean.

If some content pages may expand beyond the users view
screen, wouldn't you want the frames that display those
pages to have scroll bars?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my request.

What I'm looking for is for when the 'main' frame contents make the webpage
larger then the user can see to have the entire page scroll (as if it was
hard coded HTML or what ever), not just have to put scroll bars on the
individual frames.
Basically, so it doesn't look like the page is broken down into
sections/frames, becuase they don't like that look around here

I suppose you could:

1. Configure the current frameset with a fixed size,
no borders and no scroll bars, and then:
2. Display that frameset inside *another* frameset
having only one frame, with scrollbars.

But I certainly wouldn't recommend that. It's messy, and
you could easily end up with:

no scroll bars, one frame, wit
then scrollbars

and no way to scroll.

Bottom line: If your audience doesn't like framesets,
don't use framesets.

Isn't that contradiction? (ease of use) Why not use includes for the menus,
logo, header and footer? make yourself a template and apply the content ..
retain a blank template for new pages.

There are way to many problems with frames your spending time on stuff you
just don't need to and it's pretty much old hat .. a bit of a pain to get
the content into the right place so that search engines can spider it and
simply looks pretty awful generally.

I always have to chip in and say that when it comes to frames, in my opinion
only good for the FrontPage dw where it's essential for ease of use of the
forum.

If I understand your desire, I would suggest that you
drop the frameset approach.

If you are using Front Page 2002 or less, I would suggest
you create a page "template" that mimics your frames
metaphor by using tables and use an include page web
component to contain your menu stuff (in case you ever
need to change it and don't want to have to go to all of
your pages to make the changes).

All of the above said, I believe the Dynamic Web
Templates would be a better solution but this feature was
added in Front Page 2003.

But ok... I try to explain my problem...

I could use only 2 frames, but I need a fixed menu and open the othe
pages in my "contents" frame. I have an animated menu
------> Menu and Contents need scrollbar (always). So I would lik
to have only 1 scrollbar to move both frames (menu and contents)
------> I've tryed all, but I couldn't find. It is really possible in Fron
Page?
------> If it is not possible, how can I change the colors of this scrolling
This is not what I want, but can be a solution: I could change the colo
and the width in this bar to make it fit better in my web page... Is thi
possible

I use FrontPage 2002 vs. in german

Each frame is a window so you can't easily control the scrolling in both from one
You can't change the size of a scroll bar (browser controlled), and can only change the color for IE as in

Use just two frames. One for the banner, one for the menu and
contents. The menu/contents frame will scroll as one unit. You can
still put the menu into a table to get a nice "column" on the side.
