I'm running windows xp,I'm having a problem where my
harddrive almost maxed out for no reason that I can
figure out. I have a 40gb hard disk and normally it has
about 7gigs on it. Now I'm setting at 24, it was at 36
until I ran disk clean up. I have tried to run
defragmenter and it stops after a short period and says
it can't go on because of fragmented files in my
documents. I copied all of my documents to a disk and
deleted them off of the hard drive and still the same
thing. I have also ran scan disk and virus scan. Would
anyone have an idea of how I could reclaim my hard disk
and remove the fragmented files.
Thanks
Jim

Try to locate which folder(s) are using most of disk space. From Explorer
check all folder under c drive. Check how much space each folder is using.
When you have found biggest folder, check all sub folder for it. There might
be very large temporay files somewhere.

By the way, have you checked how much space your temporary internet files
are using?
