frame in powerpoint

Let me first start off my explaining why I think I need a frame in my
powepoint show. I have a word document that needs to be displayed on a slide
but it is an entire page long so shrinking it down makes it illegible during
the show. So my idea was that I could insert a frame and put the word
document inside the frame (big enough so it could be read) and then use a
scrollbar(on the frame or seperate) to navigate to the bottom of the
document. I have done this procedure before in a program I wrote for a
pocket pc using a frame and a scrollbar, but it seems I am missing a step
here. Here is what I have done:

In the control toolbox I selected the "more controls" button and then
selected "microsoft forms 2.0 frame" from the dropdown list. I was then able
to draw the size of frame on the slide and it creates it just fine. I am now
trying to insert an object into the frame I have found that if I right click
the frame and select Frame Object --> Edit it will allow me to add things
such as radio buttons and combo boxes, but I want to add an object from a
file, a word document to be exact. When I right click on the frame while in
this edit mode it has the option "Insert Object" but it is greyed out.

anyone have an idea on how get the frame to allow me to insert an object, or
maybe I am even using the wrong active x control, or is there another way to
do this. If you could answer any of these questions I would be very
greatfull.

You might find it much easier to just "link" to the Word document. Put the
file in the same folder as your PowerPoint file, insert some sort of object
on the slide, right-click and select "Action Settings", click the "Hyperlink
to" option and select "Other File", browse to and select your Word document.
Now you can click the object, open Word, browse your file in regular view,
close Word and return back to your presentation in Slide Show mode. You can
even get fancy and have an AutoOpen macro that opens the document in Full
Screen view with a button on a custom toolbar that says "Return to
PowerPoint" that does nothing but close the Word application.

Holler back if this option appeals to you and I could even provide the
sample code for Word to make it work.

I am aware of that option but I have been trying to stay away from it. It
will be put in a pack and go package so it still needs to work if the user
does not have Microsoft Word installed. Thanks for trying to help, any more
ideas let me know.
