FP2003 Trial / Invalid key

M

Mika Salakka

I noticed someone else had the identical experience, but
their problem did not get solved, so I am posting about
this again. Received Frontpage 2003 trial with Small
Business Server trial. Cannot install Frontpage with the
provided product key as the installation utility claims it
to be invalid. How do I go about getting a valid serial
key from Microsoft, as being able to actually use the
product will greatly affect my decision as to whether to
upgrade or not.

Thanks.

You need to contact MS for a replacement CD.

Easier said than done. I've spent over an hour and a half
searching MS' web site for some kind of contact
information that I could use. I don't fancy contacting
their overpriced customer service for $99 just for
something like this.

I'm having the same issue... Contacted MS tonight and spent an hour trying to re-gen keys, but then was told it couldn't be done with eval cd's. I've opened three different kits, but all have the same product key and the same issue. MS turned me over to their Money Back Guarantee line 888-673-8624, which won't be open until Monday.

If someone has a valid license key, can they not share that key with us? This is obviously an eval kit that is going to expire, so I don't think it would be an issue.

You should be very careful with those eval kits. I have had nothing but
problems with them. One took me a 50 dollar phone call to Microsoft to get
new copies of word and excell working after the eval period was over. Then
Microsoft had the gall to blaim Kinkos for it when I asked them to pay for
my phone bill. Kinko's said they got the disks from Microsoft and never
touched the programming.
