FP2002 Hover Buttons not displayed

Mike

I have a password protected area on my web site and there
are some Hover Buttons on the pages.
When I call the pages using
(example)"http:username:p[email protected]/protected.ht
ml"
the page displays with the hover buttons greyed out with
no text or button effects. When the mouse moves over the
area an error shows in the status
bar "exeption:java.lang.NullPointerExeption".
When I call the pages
using "www.mysite.co.uk/protected.html". Then fill in the
server username/password dialog box, the page shows
normally with all hover buttons working correctly.
I use IE6(XPSP2) on two PC's (both do the same). I am
told that the page shows correctly in IE5 although I have
not seen it.
I have just noticed that the hovr buttons do not show
correctly in FP2002 preview but they do in local Preview
in Browser.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so did you cure it?
I can post true urls if required.

Happy Christmas to all
Regards
Mike

I experienced the same thing and posted a message too. In my case, I
inherited the web site.
I was told that the Hover Button is a tool that you don't want to use
anymore. That is why, in FP2003, the Hover Button is not available with out
considerable searching. Instead, replace Hover Buttons with Dynamic
Buttons. The default for this is the same as the Hover Buttons. If you are
using FP2002, I don't know what you should do. Sorry about that. Maybe
some else can help.

Im sorry. 2003 calls it "Interactive Button".
Also in FP2003, Hover Button is depressed. You must know what your are
looking for to use it. It does not show up under the Insert Menu unless you
customize your Tool Bar.

Thanks for your reply.
I have posted this question on various forums and you are
the only person to reply.
It is a good answer. I shall look at using Javascript to
generate the buttons. I am looking at Xara web components
at the moment. Pretty powerfull stuff for this kind of
thing.

Thanks again
Happy Christmas
