Hi - I am running Window ME and FP 2000. I have used this
configuration on the same web (thecalicocat.com) for 4-5 years. I
recently re-formated my hard drive and re-loaded everything. I use
the open web function and edit directly on the server. After I
re-installed everything, it was working fine. A couple of days later,
I can open the web live, but it would not write anything or delete
anything off of it. I contacted support at the server and they
re-installed the FP extensions. I tried to publish down to my hard
drive and I get this message, I also tried to publish a copy on my
hard drive up to the server. I still get this message, after about 20
min. of listing pages. I have ms messenger and aol im running, not
yahoo. Also checked my IE security settings to default. (I've been
reading back posts, trying to fix this myself - to no avail!) The
server support guy said he could connect with no problems. Please
help - I need to get some work done! Thanks in advance! Sue.

In Win ME (does not support a server) you would be publishing to an existing folder (disc based web) say C:\MyWeb using File Publish
All

I publish from my hard drive c: to the web server
http://thecalicocat.com. Or I have in the past published from the web
server http://thecalicocat.com to my hard drive c: to make a back up.
I usually use the open web function in FP2000 and make changes,
delete, insert pics, etc. and then click on the save button and I'm
done. Now it will not let me save anything or publish. I have been
using the same configuration (Win ME + FP 2000 for years). Thanks.

Do you have a firewall installed, and is it set
to allow port 80 access to FrontPage??

I have a network router installed and its configuration has not
changed since all of this has occured. Thanks, Sue.

But have you recently installed or changed any software (firewall or yahoo IM)
