FP stopped working

I am running Server 2003 Enterprise and after a recent update, my FP will not
convert a page to something the server understands. I can load an old site
and it works perfectly but not a new site. Looking at both sites (files) I
see a difference in the .htm file. On old site, I have IE(pagename).htm but
on new site I get FPicon(pagename).htm
I am no computer whiz and the server was saved from the trash heap but it
still works for my website. Please tell me in simple language what I have
done wrong?

The difference in icons is probably due to the inclusion (or exclusion)
of a meta tag that denotes FrontPage as the page editor.

..htm files are .htm files, whatever the icon. If a server understands
..htm from one site, it will understand .htm from another. There is no
conversion process.

Please give a link to a faulty page.
