FP HTME

Bruce Stokes

I am using FP 2002, XP. Just recently when using INSERT, WEB COMPONENT,
HTML in order to place banners on a site the program is gernerating extra
characters that change everything. Mainly, the banner won´t show or if it
does it is unreadable. These are banners with affiliate script.

For example: one image had "%20" automatically added twice on one line
making it impossible to see the banner when published. Yet everything
appears to work perfectly when I do "Preview". Another had "</p>o</p>" at
the end of the line. In both cases these characters were not included when
I pasted the script in Insert, WEB COMPONENT, HTML.

The other problem is while using FP the script does not show when clicking
on HTML so I can correct the errors. They show up in the Preview, but
correcting anything there does no good.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Totally frustrated,

Paste the code for the banner into notepad first, then into your page.

When you use the Insert HTML Component, you will not see the script in Normal View, you will need to
switch to HTML View.

I have been using Word Pad. Is that OK or no? And it does not show up
HTML VIEW. Only when I do a Preview in IE. The banner that doesn´t show in
HTML VIEW is located in the TOP Shared Border.

Use Notepad.

In HTML View you should be able to see the code in the top shared border page located in the _border
folder which may be hidden, if hidden then Tools | Web Settings | Advanced Tab and enable viewing of
hidden folders.
