"Found New Hardware?"

Installed SP2 from a disc. Restarted computer, as directed. On restart, a box
appeared titled "Found New Hardware". I followed the directions, but it could
not find what it was searching for (???).
Each time I turn the computer on, this box keeps appearing. And still cannot
find what it is looking for. Help.
 
Look in Control Panel, Device Manager for anything with an exclamation mark.
It might give you a clue what it's looking for.
 
Found it. It's the "video controller(VGA compatible), says manufacturer
unknown, location PCI bus 1,device 0, function 0." Then "re-install drivers."
Is it okay to do so?
 
You can try that but if XP does not find the driver you will need to know
what video card it is.
Does your motherboard have onboard video ?
