forwarding client DNS query to ISP?

Tony

Hello.
I m sure this one has been asked meny times, but I many searches and looked
up help files for DNS im still more confused.
im new to DNS..
in order to learn window 2k server, i have installed the server on one PC.
active directory is working and DNS is installed . if i add server ip
address as DNS look up in my client TCP IP config, i have no problme
connecting , but i want server to forward the Clien DNS query to my ISP DNS
server.
in the help file it says that i have to use the option ( select tap )
forwarder , but everything in that section is greyed out and i can't enter
my ISP's IP address.
can someone point me to documentation on how to setup this one?

Thanks in advance

Hi Jonathan,

The Clients should point to the internal DNS server and then the Internal DNS server should forward to the ISP. This
way all the information can get updated in the DNS zone. Normally ISP do not allow you to register with them.

Thanks,
