Forwarded emails keep disappearing!

We have exchange 2003 SP2 installed here. All our users are on outlook 2003
with the latest service pack.

So here is the setup. We have our faxes configured to forward to a mailbox
thats meant to be a master copy of all faxes we get. Then that mailbox is
setup to forward all emails it recieves to our receptionist mailbox. This
setup has been in place for a long time and has worked great. This way the
receptionist can delete the faxes and send them on and we still have a
mailbox with all the faxes in it untouched.

The problem is that recently the faxes have been coming into the
receptionist mailbox and then a minute later disappearing. They don't go into
the deleted items and they aren't any rules setup to move them. I can't find
a reason for this. Also the forwarded faxes will stay in the inbox if the
receptionists outlook client isn't opened. So over time like 20 emails could
pile up. Then the receptionist opens outlook and the faxes all disappear.

So far I have tried reinstalling outlook on the computer that the
receptionist uses, also deleting her profile completely and reloading
everything.

I am out of ideas. Please help!

Just as idea to trouble shoot the issue alittle further to see if the
issue is with her login or the computer.

Have the user login to another pc, setup Outlook for her and see if
the issue is duplicated at this machine. If it is, copy her network
profile and backup her exchange mailbox, delete her AD user and purge
ger Exchange Mailbox. Recreate the user and exchange mail box and then
restore her emails.

If the issue does not happen on the other machine, add your user to
the forwarding email list for the faxes, setup your account on her
machine and see if it is duplicated under your login. If it is, take
the machine out of AD, reboot, hop on your left leg while singing "I'm
a little teapot", then reboot the machine, add back to AD and have the
user login again.

If this issue is still occuring after taking and readding machine to
AD, I would re-install the OS and start from scratch or look for
nearest window and eject the machine from it :) .

Thanks Larry! I should have probably thought to do this stuff also but I was
drawing a blank trying to figure out what to try next. Thank you! I will go
through each of these steps and hopefully get this fixed.

This worked! I backed up the exchange mailbox, deleted it, restored the
emails and now these forwarded messages are staying. Thanks!
