Forwarded Appointments

I see that I can forward an appointment in my calendar to others via email.
How does the recipient place it in their calendar once they open the email
and view the attached appointment?
 
If they are using Outlook, they should be able to open the attachment and
then click File | Save to save it to their calendar. Make sure the message
is sent to them in Rich Text format.
