forward slashes ["/"] and other forbidden marks

How can I FORCE my PC to accept forward slashes ["/"] and other forbidden
marks?

Other than write them on your monitor with a felt-tip pen, Barry. Can't
you just change the name after positioning? ( I take it this would be
for easy recognition?)

That's what I did -- beforehand. Do y0u think I s/ get a new computer
orhave a repairperson fix this one?
