Forward Email Rule Not Working Automatically

Hello,

I have Outlook 2007 running on my home vista PC. I have created a Forward
Email Rule, which is intended to forward all emails received to an external
email account. It is as follows: "Apply this rule after the message arrives
forward it to (e-mail address removed)".

The rule works fantastic but only does so when it is manually run (i.e.
Tools> Rules & Alerts > Run Rule Now).

Can you please tell me how to set the rule up to automatically run, or at
alternatively run at specific intervals (i.e. every 5-15 min)?

Thanks,

Is this the complete rule? Do you have any other rules?

If a rule is enabled, it will run when a message arrives. You cannot run
rules at intervals.

Hi Brian,

Yes, that is the complete rule. There is 1 other rule listed entitled,
"Clear categories on mail (Recommended)". It is as follows, "Apply this rule
after the message arrives assigned to any category clear message's category".

Not sure where this rule came from, perhaps it's a default rule made by
Outlook...

Could it be that the 2 rules are conflicting with each other as they are
both to be applied, "after the message arrives"?

Ok, so no timed intervals...but is it possible to create an Outlook Macro
that could repeatedly run a rule? Obviously, I'd prefer not to go this
route...

Any help is very appreciated:)

Hi Brian,

Here's the update, the rule works automatically when configured on a POP
account. However, the rule does not automatically work on a MAPI account.

Actually, I'm not having any luck with the automatic running of any rules on
the MAPI account (e.g. created a rule to move all new messages to a specified
folder, and nothing automatically happens).

Any ideas!

When you say "MAPI account", do you mean a Hotmail account using the Outlook
Connector? Rules don't work on that type of account, as far as I know.

Yes, I was and had a feeling that was the problem. I have another question
regarding the Outlook Connector when used with Hotmail...should I start
another discussion item or can we cover it here?
