A spreadsheet containing two colums. Column A has dollar amount entries.
Column B has date entries. These entries are entered throughout the month
and every month of the year. I need a formula that will sum the amounts in
column a only if they are during the month of march from column b (for
example)

I think you want SUMIF

Put this is C1 and copy down..........
=IF(MONTH(B1)=$D$1,A1,"")

In D1, type the 3 for March, or 4 for April, etc........
In E1 put this formula, =SUM(C:C)
