Formulas showing up

When I modify a formula the formaula never goes away. I have the cells
format as hidden. Can someone tell me why this is happening?

This really sucks

you have to protect the sheet before the hidden property for the cell
becomes effective. You need Tools | Protection | Protect Sheet. You don't
need a password if you don't want one.
