I'm not sure what formula to use. I am trying to count in numerical order
down a column, ie 1,2,3,4 and so on. Rather than have to type each individual
number, I would like Excel to fill in the columns for me. I've done it once
before but can't remember the formula. Can someone help with this?

In A1 put 1
In A2 put 2
then highlight both cells and left click on the little black square in the
bottom right hand corner of A2 and hold left mouse button down and drag it
down as far as you want.

type the 1, and the 2 below it, then highlight them both, then click and hold
the "fill handle" that's the black square in the lower right hand corner of
the cell with the 2 in it, and drag it down

hi
in A2, enter the number 1.
in A3, enter =A2+1.
copy down.

Or forget entering the 2

Just enter 1 in A1.

Right-click on the fill handle and drag down.

Release button and "Fill Series"
