=SUM(A1:A10) entered in B1

=SUM(A:A) entered in B1

Select the range of numbers then click on the AutoSum button on the Standard
Toolbar. Looks like a sideways M

How do I add a colum of numbers?

Click on the first cell below the last data point in the column.

Hold down the ALT key and press the '=' key. <enter>

DONE!
