Formula troubles

Here is my problem, I am trying to make a worksheet for a teacher. On one
row, I have made a drop down list for one of four fields:Classwork, Homework,
Quiz and Test. In the row below that, I will put the respective scores. The
student's names are in column 1. I already have a formula in place to average
each students scores, but my problem is that the teacher I am making this for
scores both homework and classwork as one score, quizzes are worth two, and
tests are worth three. So what I need to do is get excel to count quiz and
test scores multiple times when averaging. I have alomst slung my laptop
trying to figure this out.

Bill:

Just change the formula...If you have assigned a "quiz" in
say, cell B3, then in your formula, you simply
have "B3*2", and for "test", if that is in say, cell B4,
then you go "B4*3"...

If you're not sure what I am saying, drop me an email,
maybe you can email me the worksheet, I can fix it and
email it back to you, if I cannot explain it correctly in
this forum...
