Formula to big

I have a formula that is too long for the accepted amount
of characters excel allows you to enter. Is there any
way that you can extend that.

Maximum characters is 1024.

It's a specification.

You look as though you need to make the formula more efficient or
break it up into separate intermediate formulas.
