Formula to add # of 0's in front of date

Excel 2000 ... I pasted to Excel from another application
(6500 records) & then performed "Text to Columns". One of
the Fields contains Dates ... format yymmdd.

Issue: Leading 0's were omitted in this Date Field. All
dates need 6 characters & I now have dates with as few as
3 characters.

How can I restore the Leading zeroes to those dates
containing <6 characters? A formula perhaps?

This can't be done reliably. Consider 1111: Is this 011101, 110101 or
010111?
