formula results into zero

My officemate has experienced the following:

When she adds two cells, the result shown in the cell is zero.
But when you press F2 you can see the correct result.
What is the cause of this? Even changing the cell format does not
work.

The file size is actually about 6MB... maybe that has something to do
about it.:confused:

Can you post the formula that is being used and the values of the
referenced cells? Pushing F2, while in the cell, should only put you
into Edit Mode and show the Formula, not the result.

It's just a simple addition. Cell1 + Cell2. I'm wrong about pressin
F2. It's actually meant pressing F2 then F9. Anyway it's probably
circular reference. Thanks anyway
 
If you press F9 while in Edit mode, Excel performs the calculation and saves
the numeric result. To avoid this, after pressing F9, tap the ESC key.
