formula for decimal

requiring a formula to convert a number into a decimal form for a calculation
purposes.
eg. a box of butter has 8 blocks in it...but it only has 4 blocks. So one
column has 4 and the other to convert that number into a decimal number of
0.5 instead.
please help

=4/8 will return 0.5

With 4 in A1 and 8 in B1, in C1 enter =A1/B1
