Forms lost

Hello Team,

I have installed on a pc-network for about 40 outlook-users some
vba-macros in the vbaproject.otm file.
Outlook 2003 on Exchange Server 2003.

Also i have copied two custom outlook forms to the Personal Form Library
of each user. It would be smarter to copy these two forms to the Central
Form Library, but the administrator does not know how to give me the
rights to write into this library and he doesnot have the time so i have
created .Oft files of these two custom outlook forms and publish them
into the Personal Form Library of each outlook user.
Sometimes however it happens, that they are not recognized by the
software and i have to reinstall them, even when they are already
present. When it happens it happens on the same pc's.
Does any know what can be the cause of this ?

Apply Office 2003 Service Pack 1, which resolves most forms cache issues.

problem i have encountered:

Folder-naming problem causes Outlook 2003 to stop responding

When Outlook repeatedly caches a form with the same name, Outlook is
supposed to append a numbering scheme to the file system folder in the
forms cache. This numbering scheme is supposed to incrementally number
file names beginning with 001 and to continue numbering sequentially.
However, the original version of Outlook 2003 does not handle the file
names correctly. The folders are incorrectly named. After a form is
cached five times, the sixth-cached form fails. This causes Outlook stop
responding.

To determine if this problem is occurring, check the forms cache on the
local hard disk. Typically, the path of the forms cache is as follows:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\FORMS

There is a folder for each form that was cached. The folder names
correspond to the Message Class field of the form. If this problem has
occurred, you can see zeros appended to the folder name as in the
following examples:

IPM.Contact.FormName
IPM.Contact.FormName00000
IPM.Contact.FormName0000
IPM.Contact.FormName000
IPM.Contact.FormName00

Use the Clear Cache method to clear the forms cache. The problem is
temporarily resolved until more forms are cached, and then the problem
occurs again.

There is a hotfix that is available for this problem. You can contact
Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix. This hotfix is scheduled
to be included in Outlook 2003 Service Pack 1.

This is exactly what is happening. And of course i am going to install
Service Pack 1.

But there is one thing that is not clear to me:
Does this mean that the Forms Cache will be filled with a long range of
numbered copies of the form every time that I
I create a new copy of the form and put this in the Personal Form
Library of a user ?

The per-folder caching explained in the article refers to forms published to
multiple locations. If you are using a form published to only one location,
it should be cached just once.
