Wondering if anyone can tell me the best way to format
the hard drive using XP
I had some driver problems so tried to re install XP but
it never gave me the option to format first so now i have
two versions of windows on my computer
Is it possible from XP? Disk management wont let me
becasue its the system drive.

Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
Matt

Yes.

When you re-install XP, make sure you select a "Clean" install, and check
the box that says
something like "allow me to determine later where XP is to be installed."
(I think you have to
check an "Options" or "Advanced" button to get that option.) Later in the
install you will be given the
opportunity to reformat your drive.

Alternatively, obtain a Windows ME startup disk from a friend, and use it to
delete all partitions from
your drive before installing XP.

You set your bios to boot from the cdrom. Have the XP cd in there and boot
the computer. You can then format the hard drive and install XP clean.
