Formatting tabs with leaders option is not working.

I am trying to format tabs with leaders for a homework assignment. However, I
am getting no results when I click the OK button in the Format tabs with
leaders option. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be wrong. I
would appreciate any suggestions at all. Thanks.
 
You won't see the leader until you insert a tab character.

It's also possible you're not clicking on the SET button before closing the
dialog box. Our students make that mistake all the time.
