formatting stanzas

I

inosent

hi

i am formatting a book of poems. some are short, others long.

what is better, or what is the most common way:

1) to break stanzas between pages or

2) to keep the stanza intact?

if i keep the stanza intact it will often lead to large gaps on the page (5.5
W x 8.5 H) - it looks ok, but was wondering if anybody knew

thanks!

My inclination is that if the stanzas are quatrains or shorter, they should
be kept together. If longer, let them break.

Another factor that makes a *huge* difference is whether you have a few
poems you're trying to make into a respectable-looking book or a large
volume of poems you're trying to print as economically as possible. <g>
