Formatting rows in a spread sheet.

How can I format the top row (or two) of an Excel spread sheet and make it
appear on every page? I'm trying to create a list and I want the top cell in
each column to be on each page.

It's called a Header. Look under Page Setup. The specifics depend on which
version of Excel you are using.

Select A2 and Window>Freeze Panes to freeze row 1

In 2007 that would be View>Freeze Panes.

The row or rows above your selected cell will remain frozen.

i.e. A3 and freeze wil keep rows 1 and 2 frozen.

The answer varies by version. A search for "rows to repeat at top" should
yield an answer.

I assume you are talking about printing the 1 or 2 rows on each sheet
on a printed document. I always go to "Page Setup" and click on
"Sheet" tab, In the window "Rows to repeat at top" you can select the
rows or type in "a1:a2" to get the first two rows for example.

The "rows to repeat at top" search did the trick. Thanks Blake. FYI I'm
using MS Office 2007.

Fred,

I was talking about the first row being repeated on each printed page in
addition to the Header. Blake's suggestion hooked me up. Thank you for your
effort.

To save everyone time, identify your version in your initial post. You get
better answers, and people don't waste their time trying to generalize the
answer.
