Formatting Problem

I have office 2003, and I started getting the styles formatting problem. I
select a certain font, and I start typing and it jumps back to times new
roman. Whatever I do it just goes back to times new roman. I tried plaing
around with styles formatting, but just get's things very misex up. please
help me clear out. I don't need the styles formatting.

Hi art,

Why not continue typing and after you're done, select the entire document
and change it to your desired font. See if it works. Post back to whatever
mess had i added up.

no. It just doesn't work and it's driving me nuts. How can I just make that
the styles formatting should not control what I'm typing. Please help.
