formatting one line of text on new page

Microsoft Word 2003
After a snafu in which all my Word files got changed to WordPad files, I am
now having trouble with automatic formatting in Word. Specifically it no
longer adjusts text so that there are at least two sentences from a paragraph
on a new page.
 
Modify your basic style (probably Normal) by checking "Widow and
Orphan Control" on the second tab in the Format > Paragraph panel.
