formatting inside table/text box in form

I have a form that asks users for several types of information, mostly in the
form of drop down boxes. But there are some fields that require text and the
user needs to be able to add bulleted text if necessary. I cannot find a way
to protect this document without the bullet option graying out. Can someone
help?

In a protected document, you cannot apply formatting to text.

What you can do is add a section to the document and leave it unprotected.
In such a section, users will be able to format text more freely. In Word
2007, you are limited to applying styles via the Home tab of the ribbon (or
the Styles dropdown, which you can add to the Quick Access Toolbar). You
should be able to press Ctrl+Shift+L for bullet formatting, though.

I tried this and it's a no go, unless I'm doing something wrong. If I leave
the unprotected section as a table row, hitting tab (as if you were going to
the next section) instead puts in a new table row. So I tried it by putting
in a text box instead, and now hitting tab or enter just keeps making the box
bigger, not letting you go to the next editable area.

The other issue here is that in another section of the document where I need
to do this again, there are three columns of info, but only the last column
needs to be bulleted. And I haven't seen a way to put in a page break but
start the next section in the same row.

This was a great idea but unless I've missed some key instruction, it doesn't
work. If I make the unprotected section a table row, when inputting text and
using the Enter and Tab keys it just adds a new row to the table rather than
going to the next editable section. So instead I added it as a Text Box and
gete a similar issue -- tab and enter add more space in the text box instead
of proceeding to the rest of the form.

Also, if I add a choice in the Quick Access Toolbar, does that stay with the
document when others use it?

Well, in an unprotected section, pressing Tab does what it usually does in a
document; that's to be expected.

Maybe someone who knows VBA better than I do could suggest a macro (but note
that security settings must be considered if you want to use macros).
