Formatting columns with csv files

Sue D

I have a problem with Excel automatically assuming some
numbers are dates. I have put the number into text
format in order for it to remain as a number. However,
when I save as it a csv file it reformats it as a date
format. I then manually change it in the csv file as
text and it looks like it has saved but when I re-open
the file it again has gone back to date format. Very
frustrating!!

Can anyone please help

I am having a similar problem where I have a text field
that is being interpreted by Excel as numbers, so all
leading zero are lost. Does anyone know of a workaround
for this?

thanks,

julie
