formatting column values

I am entering new data into 2 new columns into an existing database. I have
not been able to get the new data in the new columns to be displayed as
currency ($). Please advise as to how to accomplish this simple task....Thanks
 
It sounds like there is a format property that needs to be set. It is
difficult to be any more precise, with the information you gave.

Are you entering the data into a table, form or query? What is the
data type in the table?
