I have a dell e521 with a amd 5000x2 and ati 1300pro video card. TSST corp
TS-H 653a dvd burner that will not format a blank cd-rw. Its a memorex hi
speed cdrw new out of the package. Wont format my other cds either. Is the
vista service pack to blame?

The built-in windows CD Burning function has never (AFAIK) been able to
format CDRW disks for packet writing. You need to use Nero or Roxio or some
other application.

Vista will format CD-RW disks with the UDF format.
I just did one. Without Nero or Roxio. I don't have SP1.

Thanks. I didn't know that.....(I don't have Vista, just "lurking" here
until by sheer inevitability it comes....)
