Formatting and Styles

My

Is there a quick way to disable the style templates that appear on the home
bar at the top of the page on every document? I am always struggling to
manually change the formatting that the the styles automatically applies to
my documents. I rather do my own formatting.

Thanks.

Word formats with styles so you cannot avoid them or 'disable' them. You can
stop Word from autoformatting your document
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TameAutoFormat.htm, but rather than use
manual formatting you should create your own styles or adapt the built-in
styles to your own requirements.
