formatting a cd

I have a cdrw and am trying to format my cd.
I am using WIN XP home.

I have a program called file cd that supposedly does this
but when it reaches 100%, it keeps running and doesn't
write the file data to the disk.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try Nero or Easy Cd & Dvd Creator 6.

It may not be good with XP. Try some other program. What are you
trying to format it for use with?

You don't format the CD. Just write to it. You only need to format when
you use a packet writing program like Direct CD. I don't think the Win XP
CD write capability is compatible with that.
