Steve
I have a Hard Drive type MP3 player which has died.
Sometimes when connecting it to the PC (via USB cable) windows will report
that the USB Device is not recognised, or it will say it has malfunctioned
and then drop the device from My Computer. Other times it will eventually
load and show as Drive G:
On the occasions when it will load a right click on the drive name and
selecting properties will show that it has 0 bytes.
Obviously the drive is corrupt and if it was standard drive I would be using
a utility to try and format it. However as it is connected by USB the only
option is to use the Format command on the right context menu.
Unfortunately this doesn't work.
Are there any utilities for formatting drives connected via USB? Or any
other ideas anyone?
Or do I have to accept it's junk?
TIA
