Formating a single word

Bernard Liengme

I am sure that at one time it could place the insertion point anywhere
within a word and use CTRL+I to make it italic. Now I must first select the
work by carefully double clicking on it. Have I overlooked some option
setting in Word 2007?

Bernard,

Yes you have. The option in on the Office Menu>Word
Options>Advanced>Editing Options>When selecting automatically select entire
word.
