How can you format the hard drive of a PC when you can't log in or get to MS DOS?

Either that or download the diskette's to your hard drive from the hard
drive manufacturer's web site and format and partition the drive with those.
Some hard drives have two diskettes and some have one.

Just another alternative..... You can put the drive in
another PC as a slave, go to Disk Management, and then
format it.
