Can anyone point me to help for formatting a second hard drive that is
installed on my pc. This D: drive needs to be recognized by my main C:
drive and my home network but does not need an OS. I use this D: drive for
storage of files... family pictures and the like.

Hi,

If you have data stored there, the last thing you want to do is reformat it.

How was the drive originally setup and partitioned? If you start/run
diskmgmt.msc and click action/rescan disks, does this see it?
