format currency is twacked

In Gridview I have $8987.7600 using a format string.
What could be wront?

I would like a comma, and only two decimal places.

Try using "C" format string:

double item = 8987.7600D;
MessageBox.Show("Value= " + item + " formatted=" + item.ToString("C"));

 

[Guest]

Or try ToString("C2") which will automatically limit to 2 decimal places.
