Thanks to all for the help but iam still having a problem
formating c..I used the xp cd to clean install but the
only thing on the disk usefull was to just reinstall the
xp..Everything was still the same on my computer when it
was complete..Also going to my computer and right
clicking on the (c) disk drive and going to format it
will not let me format as it says other drivers are using
this drive..Any more help would be great thanks..

It sounds like you are trying to install Windows from *within* Windows.
You can't do this. Of course, your post is not very clear so I may be
wrong. What you want to do is set your computer to boot from the cd-rom
drive, then boot with the XP cd. Start the installation. XP will give
you the opportunity to delete the partition(s). Do so. Then create a
new one, format the drive, and install XP. If you don't want to install
XP, then just skip that last step. Maybe if you told us what you were
trying to accomplish, we could give you more specific advice.

Follow the steps in the link below and pay particular attention to the part
about "deleting".
You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
