Form Subform Linking Question

S

Sydney

Hi,

I have a form and a subform that are linked on the primary
key of the main form and foreign key in the subform. When
I go into the properties of the form/subform and click on
either the link child or master fields to change the
linking I get a message saying Can't build a link between
unbound forms, and don't get the field linker box to
open. I can link the 2 manually by putting in the fields,
but not with the field linker box.

However, when I do the same to another form and subform, I
don't get that message and the field linker box opens.

What is the difference between the first form/subform and
the second form/subform that I stated above.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sydney.

The error message you are getting mentions "unbound forms" are these forms,
in fact, unbound?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. As far as I know they're bound.
The main form is bound to a query and the subform has it's
own query. The 2 are connected by the primary key in the
main form and a foreign key in the subform.>-----Original

Thanks again,

Are any of the fields on the forms bound or are they simply displaying data
from the Queries that are their source?

Sorry for not stating that in the first reply. Every
field is bound on both forms. It is in Access 97
