Form sending resulting to an email account

I have tried and tried to send a form made within Frontpage 2003 to my work email and a specific subject line. I have it all set correctly within the form coding BUT when I receive the details as submitted by the visitor it is sent to (e-mail address removed) with the subject titled Data posted to form 1 of www.mcleancomputers.ca/Emailform.htm Why? My server is running Apache on a Unix machine with FrontPage extensions all set. (Cross Posting to Server Extensions)

The form is always sent from the server using the default server SMTP address your host has set up
- in your host's case it is (e-mail address removed)
You can ask them if they will change it (most won't)

it only works by sending to the email for the internet email/host account where
the site is hosted - not to an unrelated email -

From what you saying is the email account would have to be my host's actual domain name? The email the form is currently being sent to is the same domain as the site is under ei. sending form details to (e-mail address removed) from the site mcleancomputers.ca.

If this is true then why would setting the same form up in a MailForm send the results to the correct email address instead of the hosting anonymous?

Thanks everyone for your help on this issue.

If you have the FP form set to send to (e-mail address removed) then it should work as long as the
host has the FP extensions configured correctly to process email from a FP Form. This is totally
different from using another Form Handler script, such as MailForm.

Is there a way to check the servers extension from my computer? My hosting service has 2002 and 2000 extensions but they are not very knowledgable about the program itself or how it work, this statement based on their own admission.

You can not check the configuration unless you have Admin access on the server.

Why not use the FormMail script the you have access to since it does what you want?

It requires that the form be hosted on formbreeze system, not the actual
website.

| Hi,
|
| I'd recommend that you take a look at FormBreeze
| (http://www.formbreeze.com). We use this for all our forms and it is
| the best solution I have seen with capabilities way beyond formmail
| scrips.
