I took over a project from someone who authored a FORM in FP2000. I am using FP2000 to make small content edits/updates. The FORM will not email its contents back to me....and when I hit submit it returns "--WEBBOT-SELF" in the address bar ....The ISP says that the FP Server Extensions 2002 are in effect for the whole site

Please help: (e-mail address removed)

Thank you
Kelly

Are you using an e-mail address that
is related to your domain??

Can you post a URL so someone can
look at the script for the form??

extensions?

Hi Tom

I am not sure what this means? Should I ask the ISP Administrator?

I know that there was a file (authored in FP2000) that emailed correctly....and then (the ISP says) that since I started to edit the files; by changing content ONLY and FTP-ing them back to them...that it is my fault. I then reverted back to the original file (before my edits) and FTP-d back to them...and it still doesn't work. The admin....told me today that the ACTION feature seems to be looking for a specific DLL?

Hi Steve..

If the problem lies in the FTP-ing back to them (ISP).....what can I do to prevent them from "re-installing" the extensions each time I update

Is there anything I can do differently..? (get the files another way / do something on my end to ensure non-breakage?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH...for getting me this FAR.

If the site has the FP extensions, always open it using File Menu | Open Web
and first publish (File Menu | Publish Web) it to your local computer or
work directly on the live site. If you publish to your local, then you will
need use File Menu | Publish Web to upload it. DO NOT use FTP.

Hi....I saw your other FORM answer and I tried to open the LIVE site within FP2000....it gave me the following error msg." The Server Extensions do not support this action on FTP Servers". Do you know what this means? Thanks in advance

You have to open the site via http://www.domainname.com, not via ftp://...

Thomas: That worked....I was able to open (that page) via the >File>Open Web> in FP2000. Just to recap: Once I get the ISP Administrator to "reset" the FP Extensions (to reconnect the previous FTP files) -- I should use this method to do any edits / updates...in order to ensure the Extension connections do not break! (?)

Thanks in advance....

PS: Will the "reset" feature by my ISP Admin. reconnect the Extensions to pages that I've only edited content?

T

Thomas A. Rowe

Correct!

Re-applying the extensions, should correct the entire site, however you
should open the live site after the host is done, and do Tools | Recalculate
Hyperlinks to update the hidden FP files.
