forgotten administrator password

My son changed his password for accessing his computer
last week. Now he has forgotten the new password and
cannot log on to his computer. How can we bypass the
required user name and password to "hack" into his own
computer? sb

Hi

You might try to reset the local Administrator password
with one of the methods mentioned here:

http://securityadmin.info/noframes/faqget.asp#password

If you are running Windows XP, take a look at this one first:

How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your Password
or Your Password Expires

The only way I have found is with a special Linux Boot
disk. It's purpose is to start the computer from the CD
and then enter a command to reset the Admin passowrd to
what ever you like.
