FORGOT USER PASSWORD FOR TOSHIBA M70-267 LAPTOP

Hi.
I have a Toshiba Satellite M70-267 laptop running pre-installed XP
Home. Within the Toshiba "Tools" is a screen to enter a "User
password" and also some text (I entered my name and set a password).
But I forgot it !!!!...

There is also a "Supervisor password" which I have not yet set.

Whenever the laptop reboots it asks for a password before allowing the
boot up.
But I forgot my user password and also I tried it several time. It has
shown a message "password is incorrect ". Any body does help me
regarding this issue.............
Please... HELP ME.... Please
This laptop does not have a built-in floppy drive but has a DVD R/W.
....

You set a BIOS password - not a Windows password. Here are a few
suggestions for getting around the Toshiba BIOS password(s):

1. Hold down the left Shift key during boot.

2. If #1 doesn't work, you can create a key-disk. I don't know if this
will work with a bootable cd-r; you may need to buy/borrow a usb floppy
drive and hope your system allows booting from a usb device.

To create the key-disk, get a floppy disk and then use a hex editor such
as Hex Workshop to change the first five bytes of the second sector
(the one after the boot sector) and set them to 4B 45 59 00 00 (note
that the first three bytes are the ASCII for "KEY" :) followed by two
zeroes). Once you have created the key disk put it into the notebook's
drive and turn it on, then push the reset button and when asked for
password, press Enter. You will be asked to Set Password again. Press Y
and Enter. You'll enter the BIOS configuration where you can set a new
password or disable this function.

3. If you can't do any of those things, call Toshiba tech support. They
may want proof of purchase so have that available.
