I reset my password last night, but somehow i misspelled the password in both
fields. I was wondering if there was anyway i could get into my computer so i
could delete the password and start over without having to bring my computer
in for repair.

"If you don't know the Administrator password, and don't have a password
reset disk, then you will not be able to log on to Windows XP (unless there
is a way I just don't know about), and will need to reinstall the operating
system .

There are some programs available on the web which claim to be able to reset
the password(s) without access to an Administrator account, but these are not
Microsoft programs, and are not recommended. If you do wish to try one of
these programs (at your own risk), a web search should turn up a number of
options. For example: loginrecovery.com or http://www.password-changer.com/.
It might be helpful if you have access to other computers. Also if you have
any other admin account on that computer , then you can reboot your computer,
computer in Safe Mode, then Go to Start>Control Panel>User Accounts and reset
the password.
Anyway Good Luck!"

This is completely untrue.

In XP Home, boot the computer into Safe Mode. Do this by repeatedly
tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up. This will get you to
the right menu. Navigate using your Up arrow key; the mouse will not
work here. Once in Safe Mode, you will see the normally hidden
Administrator account. The default password is a blank.

In XP Pro, you do not need to go into Safe Mode. At the Welcome Screen,
do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in
"Administrator" and whatever password you assigned when you set up
Windows.

If you reset the built-in Administrator account's password in Home or
have Pro and don't remember the password, use NTpasswd to change the
built-in Administrator account's password to a blank. Then go to the
User Accounts applet in Control Panel and set passwords that you will
remember and make other desired changes.

(Looks around nervously for lightening bolts). No, no, although the
Empress does like a bit of worship. ;-)

Seriously, I'm happy to have been able to help. Thanks for taking the
time to let me know.

Greetings,

It is possible to reset login password using such utilities as Active@
Password Changer. It can easily perform the operation, and it really
never failed me before. That should definately help.
Anyone who would use any of the apps you recommend from your
questionable Russian server is insane. You are just a fscking spammer.
